One of two Parrott rifles incorporated into the Demopolis Confederate Memorial, this Parrott rifle fired a 20 pound projectile and was used extensively during the United States Civil War by both sides.

This particular Parrott rifle has a rifled barrel.

Unfortunately the writing on the mouth of the barrel is obscured by multiple layers of paint and the action of weather.
