Before Interstates 10 and 8 carried traffic from Phoenix to Los Angeles, U.S. Highway 80 meandered through the southwest connecting major hubs and small communities. Arlington is one of the smallest of those little communities. The 2010 census showed a population of 194. Arlington is located in the Gila River Valley, an area of large farms fed by the river. The Arlington Post Office serves the residents of the area, the majority of whom live on the farms. It is at the crossroads of Old U.S. 80 and 331st Ave. It is a small, yellow brick building with a gravel parking lot.
