The Train Station opened as Warrah, in 13 August 1877, being renamed as Willow Tree in 1879. It is 375 km 'north' of Central Station, Sydney. (visit link)

The station has one platform with a simple station building for the one rail line right in front, but there is also a 'passing loop'. There is a turntable nearby for the extra engines that are used to help pull, or slow down the LONG Aurizon coal trains over the Liverpool Range. From Wikipedia ... "Due to the length of the platform, only the Moree section of the train [Northern Tablelands Explorer] stops on the platform." [ex-Wikpedia: (visit link) ]
