The Fort Cobb post office is located at 408 Hazlett Street. This is a one-story brick building with a glassed-in entrance vestibule. The counters are open Monday to Friday,from 8-11; 12-3, and closed Saturday and Sunday. The lobby is open Monday to Saturday.
Fort Cobb was established as a U.S. Army frontier post in Indian Territory 1859. It was named for Secretary of the Treasury Howell Cobb. During the Civil War, it was occupied by both northern and southern forces. The fort was abandoned in 1869 in favor of Fort Sill, 30 miles to the south.
