Jos Villabrille is a Tucson based muralist. This mural is on the side of the Church at Gila Bend. It portrays a view of the sonoran desert as seen through a broken wall with a cross rising on a hill in the distance. The mural appears to be painted directly on the brick wall, probably with oil paint. As the outlines of the bricks are apparent through the mural there is probably not a substrata layer under the paint. Included on the mural is the name of the church, the hours of worship, and a biblical quote, and the artists self portrait.
