"Danny Kaye Ecklund, Jr., the son of Danny and Carolyn (Rood) Ecklund, was born on October 30, 1978, in Fergus Falls, MN. He was baptized at the First Lutheran Church in Roseau, MN and later confirmed at the Zion Lutheran Church in Oslo, MN. He graduated from East Grand Forks, MN and attended one year of college at Mayville State College in Mayville, ND. He then started in the construction business, working for a short time with his uncle Tim. He then started working for Wolf Steel Construction. He had two sons, Daniel and Max, who he loved so very, very much. Danny enjoyed sports, basketball was his favorite, hunting with his dad and brother, woodworking and just having a great time. He could always make you laugh and loved to joke around, Danny passed away on Saturday, April 9, 2016, at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis at the age of 37 years, 5 months and 9 days, as a result of injuries received in an automobile accident the previous day near Alexandria, MN."

There are two places at the grave with names, one with "Danny" and one with "Danny Iron". The cross is made of wood, iron and tin. Incorporated into the memorial are a hockey stick, puck, and several things representing hunting and fishing.

The grave is very well cared for.
