As you enter the park, there are several dedicated trees near the parking lot. This tree was planted to honor John (Ray) (7/10/1913 - 5/9/2001) and Mary M. (1912 - 1970) Hollis. They originated and operated the Hinton Telephone Company beginning in 1950.
Our visit was in late September and the tree had mostly lost its leaves for the winter. Hopefully you will see it in full foliage. The plaque alongside this tree reads:
