A 53-story, 1987 Mayan mirage towering over the western edge of downtown, Heritage Plaza’s Mayan-inspired theme, developed by M. Nasr & Partners, carries into the lobby.

Heritage Plaza, along with
Bank of America Center, dominates the western skyline of the city. The building is topped with a granite, Mayan-inspired crown. The Mayan theme continues into the lobby. Rather than demolish the historic
Farm Credit Banks Building, M. Nasr wrapped Heritage Plaza around it.
Heritage Plaza was the corporate headquarters for Texaco until Texaco’s merger with Chevron. The newly-formed Chevron-Texaco eventually moved all of their operations to the former Enron Buildings, vacating Heritage Plaza. The interior of the skyscraper is currently being remodeled, but, being the only major downtown building not connected to Houston's underground tunnel system, its future remains uncertain.
