A grey granite El Camino Real marker placed by the Colonial Dames of the XVII Century stands along the route of the Old San Antonio Road at the Nacogdoches County Courthouse.

This grey granite El Camino Real monument was placed in 1976 by the Colonial Dames of the XVII Century to mark the route of the El Camino Real/King's Highway in Nacogdoches.

The marker is located along TX SH 7& 21/W Main Street/El Camino Real on the north side of the the Nacogdoches County Courthouse.

The marker reads as follows:

EL CAMINO REAL – KING’S HIGHWAY
1691

Trail used by Indians, French traders, Spanish settlers, and more than 50,000 Anglo-Americans who settled in Texas prior to statehood.
