This ornate square plaque for William Boyd is mounted on an interior wall of the Church. The memorial is like that for Bishop Rowley Hill which is also displayed in the Church. (

The square plaque is displayed as a diamond and has the following inscription:
‘In Loving Memory
of
William Boyd
Born December 21st 1817.
Entered into rest,
June 13th 1880’
At the top of the memorial is a red Cross and at the base is a red Fleur-de-lis.
The 1861 Census records William (42) being married to Margaret (33) and having a son John (16). Both father and son are recorded as being Blacksmiths. The Boyd’s are affluent enough to have a house servant -Mary A Sayle (12).
The 1861 Census also shows that William was born in Malew and not Bride but both John and his mother were born in the village.
