Queen's Palace opened in 1902 boasting a ballroom which could cater for 2000 simultaneous couples and its own underground gondola ride called "Little Venice" crewed by an Italian family.

The building suffered from a fire in 1907 which gutted the building. The dome at the front toppled into the street in front.

These days, the front of the building is split into an amusement arcade (penny slot machines mainly), a nightclub and a long entrance into the old ballroom which now serves as a large indoor market of independent stalls. Aside from the name of locations including "Queen" in some form, the rear entrance on Sussex Street still bears the name Queen's Arcade witht he date 1902: (visit link)
