High above the town of Golden, not only does the viewpoint offer a wonderful view of the town and the valley but it is also the upper end of a walking and biking trail, the
Golden Hill Pathway, and the site of a Province of BC Stop of Interest sign, the
Golden Sikhs. It is easily accessible from the highway via an exit less than 200 metres to the east.
From the viewpoint the town of Golden stretches out below with the Columbia River flowing past on its way to the Pacific, being met at the Golden Airport by the Kicking Horse River. Beyond, on the east side of the Columbia River Valley, the Purcell mountains rise to heights nearly as high as the Rocky Mountains, at the foot of which one stands while at this viewpoint.
There are picnic tables at the viewpoint but no "Comfort station". Across the highway, though, accessible via Golden View Road, is the Golden Information Centre, just 150 metres away.
