The tree is located in the middle of the triangular shaped village green at Chapel Chorlton.
It is surrounded by metal railings and wooden bench seating.
The oak tree was planted in 1897 to commemorate the diamond jubilee of Queen Victoria.
There are two metal plaques attached to the railings.
The inscription on the top plaque reads:

The inscription on the plaque beneath it reads:
