Originally built as the city hall and the fire hall, this building has been added to, the fire department has moved to newer and larger quarters and the building is now shared with the Enderby & District Museum. The museum has a nice collection of artefacts and photos representative of Enderby's early days.
The Enderby & District Museum Society was established in 1973 to collect, preserve, exhibit, and interpret the human and natural history of the City of Enderby and surrounding district in the North Okanagan. The museum features a look at the area's colourful past through changing and permanent displays. Included in the museum is a reference room for those interested in looking at photographs and newspapers or researching local events and family histories.
The community served by the museum and archives is in the North Okanagan, where the City of Enderby is bounded by Mara Lake to the north, Mabel Lake and Trinity Valley to the east, Spallumcheen to the south, and Deep Creek to the west. This includes the Spallumcheen Band of the Shuswap People to the south and east of the City of Enderby.
