Beautiful wooden mountain chalet Libušín, National cultural monument of the Czech Republic located in Pustevny ski center in Moravian-Silesian Beskids range, was heavily damaged during devastating fire in March 3, 2014.
Chalet Libušín, work of renown Slovakian architect Dušan Jurkovic, is one of pearls of the late Czech national revival art influenced by Czech and Moravian vernacular architecture. The richly decorated wooden building was ceremonialy opened for public use on August 6, 1899 for Czech tourists. Popular and by visitors beloved chalet was completely and costly reconstructed in 1995-1999. The provisonal steel protective structure was erected above the ruins after the devastating fire. The complete reconstruction of the building is planned for years 2017-2019. The trees, which trunks are needful for the construction, were fell down in spring 2016.
