ENGLISH:
In 1710, Georg Heinrich Bose became the new owner of the 1558 first mentioned middle-class house. He let it rebuild and modernize once in the Baroque style. Master builder was the master mason Nicholas Rempe.
The rear and side buildings, which were previously constructed from truss, were newly built. This created a closed symmetrical courtyard, as it exists today. It shows a that time typical illusionist facade painting.
A regular guest at Bosehaus was Johann Sebastian Bach, which moved into the adjacent Thomas School in 1723. Today the Bach Museum and the Bach Archive are located behind the historic facade.
