This monument is dedicated to the 105th Ohio Infantry Regiment Monument , is in recognition of their service during the
Battle of Chickamauga, fought September 19–20, 1863. The 105th Ohio Infantry Regiment was commanded by Maj. George I. Perkins, and was part of Col. Edward A. King's brigade, Reynolds' Division, in the 14th Corps.

The plaque on the rear of the monument reads:
Sept. 19th, 1863, from about 3:00 P.M. to 4:30 P.M. this Regiment, Maj. George I. Perkins commanding, was engaged about 600 yards east of the Brotherton house. The success of the enemy at that time on that part of the line compelled it to retire, and it was rallied and reformed, in this position, which is also occupied only 20th, till about 1:00 P.M. when the retirement of the Brannan’s division to Snodgrass Hill made it necessary to take a more refused position facing South.
Loss, killed 3: wounded 41: captured or missing 26: total 70.

Short Physical Description
6'9" x 3'8" x 10'6" high monument consisting of rock-faced base and rounded-top slab containing relief of soldier among trees and rocks. Raised lettering at the bottom and bronze tablet on rear. Located near Poe House site.
