Although the Whitin family were not part of the church membership they exercised control over the village of Whitinsville including the placement of various churches in the town. The church acted as a nice backdrop for the Memorial Park that it is adjacent to. It is a modified Gothic Revival in style, designed by Charles C Coveny.
