The Gale & Dickinson store is in the hearth of Harvard Center at the intersection of Still River Rd and Mass Ave. It is a 3 story wood structure covered in clapboard. This is the third store to stand at this location. There was a building, Nathaniel Stacy Bookbinding Store that was built in 1831 and burned in 1850. The building that replaced that one was moved to Mass Ave to the lot now occupied by the Post Office. The large size of the existing building is an indication of the busy nature of Harvard in the late 19th century.
