The Dam is located behind the Linwood Cotton Mill as you face the mill from Linwood Ave. It runs the along the side of the mill. The dam is on the Mumford River and created the mill pond next to the mill. This dam and resulting water power was used to operate the machinery in the mill. It was later supplemented and replaced with steam power.
