This remodeled vernacular Queen Anne-style house was built for the Litherland family in about 1895. Many of the characteristic Queen Anne features were removed during the remodel. It was sold in 1903 to Robert Wiggins, a retired businessman. Wiggins's son Fred ran a farm implements store and is locally known as having sold the first automobile in Salem. Fred Wiggins married a Myra Albert, who became a well-known artistic photographer. In 1910, the house was sold to Mary Follrick, niece of Robert Wiggins. Ms. Follrick married Robert Crawford, who became supervisor of the the flax plant at the state prison in Salem. Mary Follrick Crawford lived at this house until 1972.
