The Bush and Brey Block is a two-story, Queen Anne Style, brick masonry commercial building constructed in 1889. There are relatively few remaining examples of Queen Anne Style commercial buildings in Oregon. This structure was designed by
Walter D. Pugh, architect of the
Thomas Kay Woolen Mill and the
Bush-Breyman Block, near the south end of the block shared by the Bush and Brey Block. Noted Salem resident
Asahel Bush, a newspaperman, owned both properties.
Today the ground floor is the site of a popular sports bar.
