Located near St. Nicholas' Church and next door to another Waymark (visit link) , this building has a sign in Estonian and English. The English portion informs us:

"Built in the 13th century as the 'Viru Residence' of the Livonian Order, hence the name Ruutli Street (The Knight's Street). The Comtour of the order transferred ownership of the house to the noble family of Tiesenhausen, after which, around the year 1600, the building was renovated and a limestone sarcophagus of the family was placed in the Cathedral of Saint Mary the Virgin in Tallinn. The living room of the house received a triple window in the renaissance style with Ionic pillars and a relief of the coat of arms of the Tiesenhausen family on the flanning (from the workshop of the sculptor, Arent Passeri). At the end of the 19th century, another storey was added to the house according to a plan by architect Nikolai Thamm (senior), whereby the arrangement of space as well as the facade became simpler. A fragment of a round-arched gothic inner portal is visible as part of the wall."
