San Francisco's Grand View Park is situated on a 670-foot hill with a fabulous view in every direction.
This small park overlooks the green strip of Golden Gate Park running E-W through San Francisco to Ocean Beach at the Pacific Ocean. One can see the windmills rising above the forest of the park. Looking North, one can see Lands End and the Presidio, as well at the towers of the Golden Gate Bridge. Beyond the bridge are the headlands of Marin, Mt Tamalpais and Point Reyes. Looking Northeast, one overlooks the financial district of downtown San Francisco. Past the bay in the distance are the hills of Berkeley, California.
Looking more East, one see the Mt Sutro Tower and Twin Peaks Park.
Access to the park's summit is by either of two stairways, that climb the hillside - the west stairway or the east stairway.
