The Municipal Offices of the town of Hinton burned to the ground in 1998. Rather than rebuild a new location was chosen that better reflects the Hinton of today. Rather than in site of the mill, a treed location with good exposures and sun opportunity was chosen.
The new building was completed in 2001 after an extensive consultation process with the public, the municipality and the province to bring several services together under one roof.
