This monument to the 35th Illinois Infantry is located on the east side of Lafayette Rd, north of Vinyard-Alexander Rd in the Chickamauga National Battlefield. This is a standard Illinois monument.

This monument to the
35th Regiment Illinois Volunteer Infantry , is in recognition of their service during the
Battle of Chickamauga, fought September 19–20, 1863. It marks their postion on Saturday, September 19, 1863 from 1 to 4 P.M. It is one of two markers to the 35th Illinois Infantry on the battlefield. The waymark of the other marker is
35th Illinois Infantry Regiment Marker.

7'6" x 4'4" x 4'6" rock-faced monument consisting of a rectangular granite block with an inscribed polished front on a 1'6" high granite base. The tops of both pieces are beveled. Marks unit's position on Sept. 19, 1863, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.
