Historical marker noting an engraved stone at a local overlook on Shades Crest Road. The marker was placed by the Shades Crest Garden Club, Jefferson County, Birmingham, Alabama.

Rock inscription:
Tho. W Farrar
Seraphine F Farrar
To sit on rocks, to muse on flood and fell,
To slowly trace the forest's shady scene,
Where things that own mot man's dominion dwell,
And mortal fool hath ne'er or rarely been.
