The English-Scherer Commercial Building at 301 Schiller Street was originally constructed as a two strory building in 1869 and the third floor was added circa 1885. The first floor of the brick commercial building has a modern storefront that retains the traditional configuration. The building has a flat awning/balcony running the length of the facade between the first and second floor is can be access from door on the second floor. The building is in good condition and is currently used as a restaurant.
