The Rutledge Stairway in the Bernal Heights neighborhood of San Francisco, is a long stairway through a lush and shaded garden. The stairway is divided at the end of a Mullen Avenue cul-de-sac. Google Maps calls this cul-de-sac Park Avenue, but the street sign here says Mullen.

The posted coordinates are at the stairway bottom on Holladay Avenue. The stairway ascends on a set of linked stairways of railroad tie steps with a handrail in both side. At the top of the stairway (N 37° 44.710 W 122° 24.366) is the Mullen Avenue cul-de-sac.

From the Mullen Avenue cul-de-sac, the stairway connects to the upper section of the Rutledge Street Stairway. Three blocks south of the bottom of this stairway is the bottom of the Joy Street Stairway.
