This sign has a village view with an iconic white church featured in the picture.

Soquel, California, has a population of 5,081 per the 2000 census. The history of the name of Soquel is unknown, although one story claims a bartender yelled "Soak Hell" at a customer. More likely, to me, is that it came from a Native American tribe called the Soquel Indians.
