This old white church is an icon for the village of Soquel. It is featured in welcome signs around town, a utility box and in a mural.

The Congregational Church of Soquel was founded on May 17, 1868. A ship's carpenter, Samuel Alonzo Hall, and a crew of town pioneers constructed the church building in 1869. The church underwent restoration and preservation from 1964-1968 and then was rededicated on May 19, 1968.
