The building addressed 1707-1711 N.W. 16th Street is located in a shopping area known as The Plaza in the southeast portion of the Gatewood West Historic District.
This is a one-story stucco building that may at one point in the past been exposed brick. It was built c.1927 and has two storefronts. The west storefront has a metal-framed glass door on the left with a transom above, and two display windows to the east. This portion of the building has been occupied in the past by a dry cleaners.
The east storefront has a slightly off-center entry with a metal-framed glass door. Three tall display windows are to the west of this entrance, with three windows to the east. This portion of the building has been occupied in the past by a series of groceries, including Kroger.
The building is currently occupied by Dye's Quality Furniture and Bedding. This building is Item (3) on the Historic District nomination.
