A granite post marking one point on the boundary line between the towns of Hamilton and Ipswich.

This is one of many granite posts used to mark points on the boundary lines between towns in Massachusetts, in this case, the Town of Hamilton and the Town of Ipswich. The letter "H" (for Hamilton) is inscribed on one side, and the letter "I" (for Ipswich) is on the opposite side. Portions of the characteristic orange paint band around the top can be seen. The marker is leaning slightly from vertical.

The two adjacent survey markers are H-I10 (WM6CK0), less than 1/4 mile south; and H-I11 WM (WM6PRV), about 0.1 mile north.
Type of survey mark: Granite post, approximately eight inches square, and about two feet high.

What indicators are near the mark to help people identify where it is located?:
On the bank on the north side of Waldingfield Road, just opposite the driveway to a private residence.


What property is this mark defining?:
The boundary line between the towns of Hamilton and Ipswich.
