Almaden Lake Park features its swim area in the summer. There is a roped off area of the lake that is supervised by lifeguards. It is is the only park in the South San Francisco Bay area with a sand beach and swim area.
The lake is also used for a closed course swim during the annual San Jose International Triathalon.
On Wednesday evenings, from 6PM to 7PM, in the summer, swimmers may register with the lifeguards for open lake swimming.
