Found this memorial while out geocaching in some small towns near the KY TN border. With a population of just over 2,000 civic pride is easy to see all over town. This is an impressive display of their national patriotism.
Type of Memorial: Multi-War Memorial
Wars mentioned (Multi-war only): WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Gulf, Iraq, Afghanistan
In Honor Of: In Honor of Those Who Served
Marker Text: I'm not sure what I'm supposed to write here, but the main monument stone(in the center) has a US flag, underneath which are the words "IN HONOR OF THOSE WHO HAVE SERVED". The smaller monument stones(six of them, 3 on either side of the main stone) list 7 major conflicts from WWI to Iraq/Afghanistan. There are also a couple of stone benches that also serve as monuments, but for some reason I did not get pics of them, and can not remember the engraved words on them- sorry!
Date of dedication: I missed it...
Who Put it Here?: City of Westmoreland
Description of Memorial: On the corner of Depot Street near where the old train depot once sat. There's a gazebo next to it with lots of shade trees.
