Hume Lake is a reservoir formed by Tenmile Creek in Giant Sequoia National Monument. Originally formed to support a large lumber operation, the 87-acre lake is now the central part of Hume Lake Recreation Area.

Fishing is just one of the many recreational activities at and on the lake. Fish species present in the lake are rainbow trout, brown trout, smallmouth bass, and green sunfish. Plantings are conducted by the California Department of Fish and Game periodically during the summer.

We didn't go fishing but those who did obviously enjoyed it
