After talking with a couple of elder residents, I reckon the school shut in 1950s and became a secondary modern for a few years. In 1962 Penrith secondary school opened and pupils went there.
This building then became the weekly Magistrates Court until 1987. Afterwards the youth club took over until the library moved here in 2002, from the
Market Cross building .
