This historical marker is located on NC 33 (Main Street) in Tarboro. It was erected in 1949.
The Colonial Records of North Carolina is a valuable tool for people doing genelogy research, as well as anyone interested in North Carollina history dating back to colonial times. The original history that W. L. Saunders edited spanned 10 volumes and was shortly followed by a twenty volume set called The State Records of North Carolina, edited by Walter Clark.
