"Das Christusmosaik im Scheitel der Hauptapsiswurde von Kaiser Wilhelm II. gestiftet, von P. Andreas Göser OSB nach sizilianischen Vorbildern gestaltet und 1911 vollendet. Die griechischen Buchstaben IC und XC bedeuten den Namen „Jesus Christus“. Die lateinische Buchinschrift lautet: „Ich bin der Weg, die Wahrheit und das Leben.“ (Joh. 14,6)."
