This Red River Gum (Eucalyptus Camaldulensis), which is at this date about a century old, is noted as the largest tree in Tucson, Arizona. The tree is on the south side of Congress Street, just west of I-10. The tree is by a sidewalk, and there is parking nearby. News articles about this tree can be found here, here, and here. THIS IS A FINE EXAMPLE OF RED RIVER GUM
EUCALYPTUS CAMALDULENSIS
THIS TREE IS ALSO KNOWN AS
"MAMAPHIMA'S TREE"
FOR THE WOMAN WHO PLANTED IT

IN JULY OF 2009 THE TREE HAD A
DIAMETER OF 6 FEET, A CIRCUMFERENCE OF
17 FEET, AND WAS 95 FEET TALL.

THIS IS A MATURE TREE, BUT STILL GROWING.
IT IS APPROXIMATELY 90 YEARS OLD.

IT IS THE CITY'S GOAL TO
PROTECT AND MAINTAIN IT FOR FUTURE
GENERATIONS TO ENJOY.
