This bench was placed for friends and students of Beth Thorpe to have a place to sit and remember a great teacher. Before a losing battle with cancer Mrs. Thorpe was known for a number of things, one of which was "Finally Friday". Beth was a country girl through and through. While teaching at the old jr. high and at the middle school it was not unusual to hear George Jones' "It's Finally Friday" coming from Beth's classroom.
