Just off main street, AKA Highway 2, and by City Park, Creston's fire hall is fairly well centred in the town.

A fairly standard concrete block building with steel siding and roofing, this fire hall is unlikely to burn down, as have others we've heard of. Four large overhead doors suggest four firefighting vehicles within. On a tall steel tower at the rear of the building is an old style siren which appears to still be in use. The hall is one of three in Lincoln County's Fire District 7.

Given the small size of Creston it's a good bet that the entire staff is volunteer. Fire District 7 (of nine in Lincoln County) serves the towns of Wilbur and Creston and surrounding areas. The fire district comprises 520 square miles and serves a population of approximately 2,000. There are three fire stations in the district with 40 volunteer firefighters serving the Wilbur station, 22 serving the Creston station, and 14 serving the Lincoln station. The district as a whole has 18 pieces of apparatus, 6 of which are not actual firefighting vehicles but personnel transportation vehicles.
