FR Le canal du Verdon est un canal d'irrigation en Provence, construit de 1866 à 1875, pour amener l'eau du Verdon jusqu'à un tunnel puis jusqu'à Aix en Provence depuis Quinson.
Aujourd'hui, un barrage a été construit à Gréoux les bains, rendant inutile ce canal puisque l'eau est maintenant puisée directement dans le lac.
Un vieux pont permettait de passer au-dessus du canal. Il n'est plus en très bon état mais s'il date de 1866, on comprend pourquoi.
EN The Verdon Canal is an irrigation canal in Provence, built from 1866 to 1875, to carry water from the Verdon to a tunnel and then to Aix en Provence from Quinson.
Today, a dam has been built in Gréoux les bains, making this canal unnecessary since the water is now drawn directly from the lake.
An old bridge was used to cross the canal. It is no longer in very good condition but if it dates from 1866, we can understand why.
