L'eau se déverse dans la vasque par 4 canons. De style provençal, elle fut construite en 1615 par Melchior Martin, tailleur de pierre du village.

Elle est inscrite au titre des monuments historiques le 4 octobre 1932.

On accède à la fontaine en remontant la rue Grande après avoir passé la Porte Royale. Elle se trouve sur la place de la Grande-Fontaine, qui accueillait les étals des colporteurs. Charles II d'Anjou avait autorisé, en 1285, d'y tenir un marché tous les samedis. Depuis 1615, le marché pouvait aussi s'y tenir le mercredi. Le jour de la Saint-Luc, il y avait la foire aux légumes.

The water pours into the basin by 4 canons. Provencal style, it was built in 1615 by Melchior Martin, stonemason of the village.

It was registered as a historical monument on October 4, 1932.

The fountain is accessed by going up the Rue Grande after passing the Porte Royale. It is located on the Place de la Grande-Fontaine, which hosted the stalls of peddlers. Charles II of Anjou had authorized, in 1285, to hold a market there every Saturday. Since 1615, the market could also be held on Wednesdays. On Saint Luke's day, there was the vegetable fair.
