L'abbaye de Villers, canoniquement « abbaye de Villers-en-Brabant », était située à Villers-la-Ville, en Brabant wallon (Belgique). Fondé en 1146 dans la vallée de la Thyle par Bernard de Clairvaux, ce monastère de l'ordre de Cîteaux était l'une des premières « filles » de l'abbaye de Clairvaux. Mis à sac par la Révolution française puis confisqué par cette dernière comme bien national, ses moines en furent alors expulsés et son domaine vendu en lots. Ses ruines, appartenant à la Région wallonne, relèvent notamment du patrimoine majeur de Wallonie.

Les WM se trouvent à proximité de l'abbaye ou parmi les bâtiments en ruines. Attention la visite du site cistercien est payante.

The abbey of Villers, canonically "abbey of Villers-en-Brabant", was located in Villers-la-Ville, Walloon Brabant (Belgium). Founded in 1146 in the valley of Thyle by Bernard of Clairvaux, this monastery of the order of Cîteaux was one of the first "girls" of the abbey of Clairvaux. Sacked by the French Revolution and then confiscated by the latter as national property, his monks were then expelled and his estate sold in lots. Its ruins, belonging to the Walloon Region, are notably the major heritage of Wallonia.
