Bob Stoops' statue is located on the south side of the Gaylord Family OU Memorial Stadium along with three other coaches (Bennie Owen, Barry Switzer, and Bud Wilkinson). Stoops and Owen are in the grassy area to the west side of the circular drive.

The bronze statue shows the former OU coach standing with his feet slightly apart, hands on hips, and facing a little to his left. In his right hand he holds a headset, with a communication device looped over the belt above his right pocket. He is wearing slacks with a belt, and a collared shirt, tucked in. On his head is a visor. His shirt has a collar and a few buttons at the center. Bob stands about life-size, 6' tall, on a 3' high marble base.

From wiki:
Robert Anthony Stoops (born September 9, 1960) is a former American college football coach. He was the head football coach at the University of Oklahoma from 1999 until he announced his retirement June 7, 2017. During the 2000 season, Stoops led the Sooners to an Orange Bowl victory and a national championship.

Prior to coaching at Oklahoma, Stoops held various coordinator and position-coach positions at Iowa, Kansas State and Florida. In 2000, Stoops led his team to three consecutive wins over ranked teams including Texas, Kansas State and Nebraska. Stoops was awarded the Paul "Bear" Bryant Award in 2000 and the Walter Camp Coach of the Year Award in 2000 and 2003. Stoops has been nicknamed "Big Game Bob" by both supporters and detractors.

Stoops is one of six children born to Ron Sr. and Evelyn "Dee Dee" Stoops in Youngstown, Ohio. He is a 1978 graduate of Cardinal Mooney High School, where his father was the long-time defensive coordinator of the football team. Bob and his three brothers (Ron Jr., Mike, and Mark) were all coached by Ron Sr. at Mooney.

Stoops was a four-year starter, and one-time All-Big Ten selection at defensive back at the University of Iowa. He was also one of the Big Ten's Most Valuable Players in 1982.

The University of Oklahoma named Stoops its head coach in 1999. Stoops won seven games in his first year, taking the Sooners to their first bowl game since the 1994 season.

In his 18 years as head coach of the Sooners, Stoops has a combined record of 190–48 (.798). On November 16, 2013, he tied Barry Switzer for the most wins by a coach at Oklahoma. A week later, on November 23, 2013, he surpassed Switzer's record with a 41–31 victory over Kansas State. Stoops accumulated a home winning streak of 39 consecutive games from 2005 to 2011. The streak was ended on October 22, 2011 when Texas Tech defeated Oklahoma 41–38. He also had the most wins of the decade of any BCS school with 110 (2000–2009). Along with Bennie Owen, Bud Wilkinson, and Barry Switzer, he is one of four coaches to win over 100 games at the University of Oklahoma and currently holds the record with the most wins of any head coach at Oklahoma. No other college football program has had more than three coaches accomplish such a feat. Overall, Oklahoma was 4–6 in BCS games and 9–9 in bowl games under Stoops.

Bob Stoops
Bob Stoops became Oklahoma's head football coach prior to the 1999 season and set sail on a remarkable 18-year run.
When he retired before the 2017 season, he had accumulated a record of 190-48 (.798) and captured the 2000 National Championship and 10 Big 12 titles - eight more than any other school during his tenure. No coach in NCAA history won as many games in his first 18 seasons. and under Stoops, Oklahoma won more games than any other program during that period.
Stoops reached 100 victories faster than any coach in the modern era of college football. His Sooners were 60-30 (.667) against AP top 25 opponents (best in the country during that span) with 21 wins against top-10 foes and 11 victories against top-five squads. In the Bowl Championship Series era, Stoops was the only coach to win a national championship and each of the BCS bowl games (Fiesta, Orange, Rose, Sugar). He completed that cycle when Oklahoma registered a 45-31 victory over No. 3 Alabama in the 80th Allstate Sugar Bowl to cap the 2013 season.
During his incredible run, Stoops picked up 19 coach-of-the-year honors, including eight on the national level. Under his direction, the Sooners posted 14 seasons of 10 or more wins and played in a school-record 18 consecutive bowl games.
OU's players were heavily decorated during Stoops' years at OU. Two won the Heisman Trophy and a total of seven were finalists for the award. Thirty-eight of Stoops' players won national awards, 37 were first-team All-Americans and 83 were drafted into the NFL.
