Dieser Sommerlinde wurde anläßlich des 40. Jahrestages des Volksaufstandes der Tibeter am 10. März 1959 gegen die chinesische Besetzung gepflanzt. Er steht an der Balthasar-Neumann-Promenade unweit der Würzburger Residenz.
Der Gedenkstein am Fuße des Baumes trägt folgende Inschrift:
EIN BAUM FÜR TIBET
Dieser Baum wurde anläßlich des 40.
Jahrestages des Volksaufstandes der Tibeter am 10. März 1959
gegen die chinesische Besetzung gepflanzt.

This large-leaf linden was planted on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the Tibetian uprising against the Chinese occupation on March 10, 1959. It is located at the Balthasar Neumann promenade near the Würzburg Residence.
The memorial stone at the foot of the tree bears the following (translated) inscription:
