"Vasque en granite taillée par un gaucher et sans doute destinée à former le bassin de quelque fontaine. 5 m de diamètre, 25 tonnes. Elle se trouvait à 2 km de Bessines (Lavaugrasse) et fut déplacée en 1963. Les anciens prétendaient que ce bassin devait toujours avoir de l’eau, si bien que l’été, lorsqu’il venait à s’assécher, on pouvait être assuré qu’il n’allait pas tarder à pleuvoir. Les jeunes filles à la recherche d’un époux s’y rendaient en pèlerinage pour en faire sept fois le tour, sur la margelle.
Se situe à 1 km du centre : prendre la rue Suzanne Valadon, aux feux, aller en face « Chemin de la Pierre Belle » puis tout droit."
Granite basin carved by a southpaw and probably intended to form the basin of some fountain. 5 m in diameter, 25 tons. It was 2 km from Bessines (Lavaugrasse) and was moved in 1963. The ancients claimed that this basin should always have water, so that in summer, when it was drying up, you could be assured that it would soon be raining. The girls looking for a husband went there on a pilgrimage to go around the circle seven times.
It is located 1 km from the center: take Suzanne Valadon street, at the traffic lights, go opposite "Chemin de la Pierre Belle" then straight ahead.
