De spoorhefbrug is in 1927 gebouwd voor de goederenlijn naar de Utrechtse veiling. De brug passeert de Kruisvaart en is gefabriceerd door de toenmalige fabriek van de Utrechtsche machinefabriek Frans Smulders (indertijd gevestigd op de Croeselaan). Er waren twee hefbruggen. Ruim veertig jaar zijn ze in de spoorlijn naar de Veilinghaven in gebruik geweest. Volgens het gemeentelijk monumentenregister is de brug een bijzonder type en van architectonisch en cultuurhistorisch belang als onderdeel van de havenaanleg van de gemeente Utrecht uit de jaren 1920.
Werkloos staat de hefbrug er al tientallen jaren bij. Houten delen zijn inmiddels weggerot en het staal is aan het vervuilen. De hefbrug rijst op in een stukje groen in de luwte, het wijst het tracé van de opgebroken spoorlijn aan.
Deze hefbrug staat op de lijst Industrieel Erfgoed in de provincie Utrecht.
The rail lift bridge was built in 1927 for the freight line to the Utrecht auction.The bridge crosses the Crusade and was manufactured by the then factory of the Utrecht-based machine factory Frans Smulders (at the time located on the Croeselaan).
There were two lift bridges. They have been in use for over forty years in the railway to the Auction port.
According to the municipal monument register, the bridge is a special type and of architectural and cultural-historical importance as part of the port construction of the municipality of Utrecht from the 1920s
This rail lift bridge is unemployed for decades. Wooden parts have now rotted away and the steel is polluting. The bridge rises in a piece of green in the lee, it indicates the route of the broken railway.
This bridge is on the list of Industrial Heritage in the province of Utrecht.
