According to a billboard at the chapel, a French officer washed his wounds here in 1720 and was healed.
Out of gratitude he later had a chapel built here in honor of the Mother of God whom he had called.

The local website (visit link) reads its still visited by many faithful for prayer.

It is accessible via a dirt road by car.
